However when you look at Wilson’s accomplishments, you have to value what he has been able to do in such a short amount of time. After winning the NFC championship, Russell gave a tearful interview in which he thanked God for his ability to pull through and throw the winning pass in overtime against the Green Bay Packers. The Seattle’s times newspaper proclaimed Wilson’s play to be a miracle as evidenced on it’s Monday morning headline.
Wilson has done what few quarterbacks have been able to do. Wilson is showing up in consecutive Super Bowls which is a feat only achieved by those who are currently sitting in the hall of fame. Wilson is the first quarterback to start in 2 Super Bowls in his first 3 years in the league. Wilson’s career certainly has a lot of runway left so it will be interesting to see how the rest of Wilson’s career pans out.
