Yes, this is not a typo, we are actually talking about the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Super Bowl in the same sentence! Believe it or not there are quite a few people searching the web for current Jacksonville Jaguars betting odds for Super Bowl 52 believing this could be the year that an underdog runs the floor (or field in this case).

Going into the season, the Jaguars were expected to be an improved team, but nobody expected them to be this good. After 12 games, the Jaguars are 8-4 and tied for the best record in the AFC South. Thanks to their performance, the Jaguars odds of winning the Super Bowl has improved to +2800.

While some still consider the Jaguars to be a joke, they are a team that shouldn’t be taken lightly if they make the playoffs because they have one of the best defenses in the country and already have wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2018 Odds

As long as quarterback Blake Bortles isn’t turning over the ball, the Jaguars are capable of beating any team in the playoffs, including the Patriots.

They have a very solid ground game that averages 148.4 points per game, which is the best in the NFL this season. Thanks to the running game, the Jaguars have controlled the clock in most of their wins, which has allowed their defense to get enough rest and go after quarterbacks when they take the field.

Even though they are a run –first team, the Jaguars average the seventh most points per game this season with 29.4 per contest.

Their defense has held all but three of their opponents to less than 20 points per game, and allow an average of 14.8 points per game, which is the best in the league.

Even if they finish 12-4, the Jaguars won’t get the respect they deserve because of their quarterback. However, it will be silly to dismiss a very good team because of their quarterback if you consider the fact that players like Trent Dilfer were able to win Super Bowls by relying on their defense.

Will the Jaguars make it to the 2018 Superbowl and even have a chance to win it? It’s still too early to tell but they will be one of the most interesting teams to watch in the playoffs.
