Betting on the Falcons for Super Bowl 2019

During the offseason, the Falcons lost defensive lineman Adrian Clayborn, who signed with the New England Patriots. Defensive tackle Dontari Poe, who signed with the Carolina Panthers. Also,  wide receiver Taylor Gabriel, who signed with the Chicago Bears.

Despite their free agent losses, the Falcons did a great job signing players that will have an impact on their success this season.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Pro Bowl cornerback Justin Bethel, who will give their secondary a significant boost. They are bringing back Derrick Shelby, who had 30 tackles and a sack last season, Logan Paulson, who will give them some depth at the tight end position, Brandon Fusco, who should improve e their offensive line, and Leon McFadden, who gives them additional depth at the cornerback position.

The biggest question mark the Falcons have going into the season is figuring out what is going on with Julio Jones, who signed a five-year $71 million extension with the team.

Julio Jones Season Projection

Jones has been sending cryptic messages this offseason, deleting anything Atlanta Falcons related from his social media. Jones hasn’t indicated that he is unhappy with his current contract or wants to be traded, which has led to plenty of speculation about what is going on with the receiver.

If the Falcons want to win the NFC South and go on a deep playoff run this year, the team and players have to be on the same page. If not, expect another early playoff loss.
