The Cincinnati Bengals benched starting quarterback Andy Dalton. This was after the team got off to a 0-8 start this season. Which led many to believe Dalton had played his last game for the Bengals. Rookie quarterback Ryan Finley was installed as the team’s starter after Dalton was benched. However, he has also been unable to lead the team to its first win of the year.

After three consecutive losses and the team not scoring more than 13 points in a game, first-year head coach Zac Taylor appears to have seen enough of his rookie quarterback. Taylor named Dalton the starter for the team’s Week 13 game against the New York Jets.

“It’s time to give him another opportunity,” Taylor said of Dalton.

In his three starts, Finley completed 47.1% of his passes for 474 yards. Also, 2 touchdowns and 5 turnovers for the 0-11 Bengals, while Dalton, who started eight games has thrown for 2,252 yards, 9 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Can either quarterback help the Bengals to a win?

With Dalton back in the lineup, the Bengals are hoping they will be able to pick up their first win of the season. With the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins being the only opponents left on their schedule, the Bengals have only two realistic chances of getting a win this season. One of which will be the Jets.

However, the Jets are playing well right now. Also, New York has won their last three games, which means this game won’t be an easy one for the Bengals.

Even with Dalton regaining his starting job, it appears that his days with the Bengals are numbered. Especially with the team likely to wind up with the number one pick in the NFL Draft. The pick will presumably be used on a quarterback in what is expected to be a talented draft class. Do the Bengals need to trade for a quarterback? Or, will the Bengals draft their future? Time will tell, plus this site!
