The Super Bowl has an illustrious list of statistics that are fun to track as the season goes on. Did you know that Kurt Warner holds that number 1 and 2 spots for passing yards in a Super Bowl. In Warner’s first Super Bowl with the Rams, he threw for 414 yards against a stellar Tennessee Titans defense. Warner’s appearance in the Super Bowl with the Cardinals in 2008 allowed him to pass for 377 yards against the eventual champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

When it comes to rushing yards, Timmy Smith with the Redskins holds the distinction for the only player in Super Bowl history to run for more than 200 yards in the big game. In fact, Smith ran for 204 yards in the 1987 Super Bowl. Defensive specialist Lance Briggs holds the honor of having the most tackles in a Super Bowl by accumulating 11 in his appearance against the eventual champions in 2006, the Indianapolis Colts.

Legendary Jerry Rice still holds the record for the most receiving yards in a Super Bowl. In 1988, Rice was able to pad his stats by gaining 215 yards in his Super Bowl appearance. Rod Martin of the Raiders holds the record for the most interceptions in a Super Bowl with 3 back in 1980.
