If you are looking to set your NFL Week 4 fantasy lineup, Carson Wentz starting is confirmed. The Philadelphia Eagles lost their first two games and their last game ended up in a tie. Which has prompted fans to call for the benching of quarterback Carson Wentz, who has three touchdowns and six interceptions in three games.

Despite their struggles, head coach Doug Pederson does not plan on replacing Wentz. How come?

“No. You don’t go there. That’s a knee-jerk reaction,” Pederson told 94.1 WIP on Monday when asked what it would take to look at options at QB outside Wentz. “Carson’s our quarterback. We’re going to get it fixed. He is going to get it fixed.”
Wentz struggled against a winless Cincinnati team. Going 29-of-47 for 225 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He is tied for the most interceptions in the NFL. This with six through three games, is 29th in completion percentage (59.8) and is last in QB rating (63.9).

With the team using a second round pick to select former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, fans are hoping that Pederson will give him a shot as the team’s starter. However, Pederson believes benching Wentz would be giving in to the “aura” in the city right now. This as opposed to acting on the team’s beliefs.

The Super Bowl-winning coach did express regret, however. Regret over deciding to punt late in overtime on a fourth-and-12 in Cincinnati territory, assuring a tie, rather than giving his offense a chance to go and win it.

“Looking back, you probably put it in your quarterback’s hands to win the game,” he said.

Philadelphia’s start this season is the team’s worst since 1999. When Pederson was the team’s starting quarterback for over half the season. Before he was replaced for good by Donovan McNabb. Despite their start, they are only a half-game out of first place in the NFC East, which doesn’t have a team with a winning record.
