The Jacksonville Jaguars have decided to not sign Jalen Ramsey. This of course is about his contract extension.
The Jags announced a few days ago that they do not plan on giving cornerback Jalen Ramsey a contract extension this season. Meaning the two-time Pro Bowler will have to wait another year before he gets his big payday.
Ramsey, who told reporters the news after mini-camp practice, said he was not angry with the team and doesn’t have a problem playing out the final year on his rookie contract. Jalen did joke that he was going to ask the team for so much money they would have to put him on layaway.
“As long as I’m a part of this organization, insofar I’m a part of Duval County, I’m going to give the city and the players all I’ve got. Also, I think y’all know that,” Ramsey said. “I’ve fought through injuries. I’ve fought through everything, haven’t missed a game. I think I’m in a similar situation as Yan [Yannick Ngakoue], as where I feel like I have outplayed my rookie contract. Also, feel I’ve earned a new contract.

“But at the end of the day, it’s not the end of the world. I’m tremendously blessed. Of course, I am so blessed. I’m not down on it or anything like that at all, but that is the circumstance. That is what I’ve been told.”
Ramsey also voiced his support for teammate Yannick Ngakoue, who is also looking for a new contract with the team.
“I think Yan has earned a contract. Believe he deserves it,” Ramsey said. “That’s something that, you know, his team and the Jags will have to figure it out, and I hope they can figure it out because I definitely want him a part of this team, especially as long as I’m a part of this team. … We’ve built something special. There’s a few guys who really came in and changed the culture and made things pop, and he’s definitely one of them.
In conclusion, the Jaguars are in dire need of a corner back. Where will Jalen Ramsey sign?
