Desean Jackson wants NFL players mic’d up. Only if no fans are in stadiums when NFL resumes. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, thee is a possibility that the upcoming NFL season will be played without fans in the stadium.
If that is the case, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Desean Jackson wants players to be miked up. This so fans can get a behind-the-scenes look they normally don’t get. Would you watch?
“I think they should [mike up players]. They should give fans the [insight] to see what really goes on between the white lines,” Jackson said on teammate Lane Johnson’s “Outside the Lane” podcast. “It gets crazy, bro. I know in the trenches it gets crazy. And I know on the outside it gets crazy, too, the conversations we go back and forth on.”
Jackson also said there would be an adjustment period for the players if fans aren’t in the stands.
NFL Players Mic’d Up Funny
“At the end of the day, we’re professionals. I think we’ll all adapt to it,” he said. “It’ll definitely be weird at first. However, hopefully they can figure out [an alternative] because I definitely think a lot of teams and players feed off the energy.”
Yes, it would be awesome if NFL players mic’d up next season. Even though Jackson seems fine with playing without fans in the stands. Other players like Atlanta Falcons center Alex Mack are worried that opposing teams will be able to hear play calls in empty stadiums and use it to their advantage.
Despite his concerns, Mack is still open to the idea of playing in empty stadiums.
“I like the idea of finding new ways to entertain people and add the second level of sports viewing for people at home, because it’s all we have,” Mack said.
With the regular season scheduled to start in September, the NFL still has some time to determine if fans will be allowed in the stadium when the season starts.
