The Giants Patriots NFL final preseason is upon us! The New England Patriots and New York Giants will be trying to finish the preseason undefeated. This when they play their final exhibition game on Thursday night. The game will be played at Gillette Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM. ET.
The Giants managed to avoid their first loss of the season. This after preventing the Cincinnati Bengals from completing their rally in their last game. After averaging 31.5 points per game in their first two games, the Giants were held to 25 points in their first road game of the preseason.
Eli Manning once again played limited minutes. Also, he finished the game 4 for 8 for 41 yards. Daniel Jones continued to impress the coaching staff. This with his poise and finished the game completing 9 of 11 passes for 141 yards.
Despite Jones’ solid play in the preseason, Manning is still expected to start their season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys, which means he will not play in this game and Jones will get most of the first team reps.
The Giants have some work to do on defense. This, especially against the pass. After giving up 325 passing yards and three touchdowns to the Bengals.
The Patriots have been impressive on the defensive end so far. Also, have given up 23 total points through their first three preseason games. They are coming off a 10-3 win over the Carolina Panthers and did a great job running the ball in that game, finishing with 129 yards and the lone touchdown.
NFL Final Preseason
Tom Brady looked sharp in limited action, completing 8 of 12 passes for 75 yards. Like the Giants, the Patriots are not expected to play Brady in this game as they try to trim their roster size before the season starts.
The team got some good news during the week when the league reinstated troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon. Expect to see Gordon get some reps this week as the team tries to get him ready for the season opener.
Pick and Prediction
The betting odds for this game are not yet available. The Patriots’ defense has played well so far and will likely continue to do so against the Giants and their rookie quarterback. Take Patriots as the pick in this final preseason game.
