The Atlanta Falcons will be trying to snap their two-game losing streak and avoid a season sweep when they face the New Orleans Saints for the second time this season. Can it be done? The NFC South showdown will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Thursday, November 22. It is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Let NFL Week 12 begin! Also, note there are 3 NFL Thanksgiving Day games on Thursday.
The Falcons have been very unlucky this season. They are playing very well on the offensive end, averaging 26.3 points per game, but their defense has struggled the entire season and has cost them a lot of games.
In their last game, they were able to come back against the Dallas Cowboys. They tied the game. However, the Falcons defense allowed the Cowboys to march down the field and score the game-winning field goal. They will be hoping their defense can come up with a few stops against the best offense in the league. This is not likely.
In their first meeting, the Falcons rallied to force overtime against the Saints only to watch their defense give up an 80-yard touchdown drive on the first possession in overtime. This time around, Matt Ryan and the offense might have to take matters into their own hands and try to jump out to an early lead, which should give their defense some cushion to work with.
NFL Week 12 Thanksgiving Day Games
In addition to the Falcons at Saints game in Week 12, Thanksgiving Day also has the Bears at Lions and Redskins at Cowboys. Ready to eat and bet?
The Saints have won nine straight games and will be trying to make it 10 wins in a row as they try to keep up with the Los Angeles Rams, who are coming off an impressive win against the Kansas City Chiefs and have only one team with a winning record on their schedule while the Saints still have two games against the Carolina Panthers and one game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
New Orleans has been lighting up opponents for the last three weeks, scoring at least 45 points in their last three games. Drew Brees has played at a high level this season and has completed over 76 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns and just one interception.
If Brees remains hot, the Falcons won’t stand a chance in this game.
The Saints are favored to win this game by 13 points. The over/under on total points scored is 59.5.
With the way the Saints are playing offensively, it will be crazy not to take them at -13. However, since this is a rivalry game and anything can happen, you are better off taking the over instead.
