NFL Week 5 is in full swing. Bragging rights in the state of Texas will be on the line this week. The Dallas Cowboys travel to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football. The game will be played on Sunday, October 7/ Also, it is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Ready for some Cowboys Texans betting odds?

Dallas Cowboys Analysis: The Cowboys have split their first four games of the season. However, they haven’t looked as good as expected this season. This thanks to a passing game that is currently the worst in the league. The team thought their offense would be fine after losing veterans Dez Bryant and Jason Witten in the offseason. Rather, they have struggled early, especially in the passing game.

Dak Prescott has completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 753 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions, which is impressive because of the lack of experience their receivers have.

Ezekiel Elliott has been the difference maker for the Cowboys, and currently leads the league with 426 rushing yards. He also has 15 receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown.

If they want to beat the Texans this week, the Cowboys will have to feed Elliott early and often to prevent the Texans from sending a rush on every down, especially now that J.J. Watt has started playing like his former self.

Houston Texans Analysis: The Texans were expected to be better than they were last year, but the team has only one win this season, which they got in their overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. They will be going for their second straight win when they face the Cowboys.

Deshaun Watson had his best game of the season against the Colts, completing 69 percent of his passes for 375 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also added 41 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Houston’s offensive line did a terrible job protecting their quarterback, giving up seven sacks to the Colts.

J.J. Watt had another multiple sack game, finishing with two sacks on Sunday, after a three-sack effort against the New York Giants a week ago. If he continues playing well, Prescott and the Cowboys’ offensive line will have their hands full.

NFL Week 5 betting picks and predictions:

The Texans are favored to win this game by 3.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 44.5.

The Texans being a favorite is scary because Houston has only one win this season and they almost choked the lead away before getting the win in overtime. If the Cowboys run the ball effectively in this game, Prescott won’t have to do much, and just has to make sure he takes care of the ball.

Since the Texans have been inconsistent this season, Dallas +3 is the smart move here.
