Super Bowl Bets 2018

The Super Bowl is the most wagered on sporting event every year because it is a winner take all game, which a lot of the other major sports don’t offer. The fact that football is the most popular sport in North America doesn’t hurt either. Today we are going to be focusing on some of the most popular Super Bowl bets 2018 for American and Canadian bettors looking to place a wager on Superbowl 52.

So, what are the ways you can bet on the Super Bowl?

  • Preseason Odds:
  • You can bet on the Super Bowl before the season even starts by picking the team you think will win the Super Bowl. This method provides you with the best odds because the regular season games haven’t been played yet and the oddsmakers can’t predict which teams will have a breakout season and surprise fans.

For example, the Baltimore Ravens had 10-1 odds of winning the Superbowl in 2012, but went on to win it all. The people that took them at those odds would have won 10 times the amount they bet during the preseason.

  • Props:
  • Prop bets are another way you can bet on the Super Bowl. This simple means that instead of betting on which team will win the game, you can bet on things like the first player to score, if the first score of the game will be a field goal, touchdown, or safety, if a certain player will go over a specified amount of yards, etc.

Prop bets are fun because you can make a lot of money very quickly, the downside is you can also lose a lot of money just as quickly which is a factor you must consider when and if you plan to partake in Super Bowl online betting this season.

  • Futures:
  • Futures bets typically have the highest payout returns because they involve the most risk. You are basically betting on a team to win the Superbowl without even knowing if they are going to make the playoffs and make it to Super Bowl 52.

  • Point Spread:
  • This is a very common way to bet on the Super Bowl, especially if the money line isn’t very enticing. Betting on the point spread means the team you pick either has to win by a certain amount of points or they can’t lose by more than the designated amount of points.

For example, let’s say the New England Patriots had a -2 point spread against the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl, it means the Patriots have to win the game by two points or more. If New England wins by three points, you win the bet. However, if they win by 2 points, the bet pushes, which means the amount you bet on the game will be returned to you, if they win by one point, you lose the bet.

There are lots of other ways to bet on Superbowl 2018, but these are usually the most popular and our favorite.
