This week both head coaches of this year’s Super Bowl teams have been under the microscope in addition to their players based on injury and cheating rumors. Bill Belichick, the head coach of the New England Patriots, is no stranger to Super Bowls. The Patriots success has been documented by major sports networks worldwide and it is no secret that Belichick is one of the best coaches in the game. However, if you go back before Belichick was the head coach of the Patriots, you’ll realize that Belichick was running out of chances in the NFL. Belichick once coached the Cleveland Browns and he didn’t see much success in that coaching endeavor.
Pete Carroll is one of the most unique coaches in all of professional sports. His well documented upbeat, high energy practice sessions seem to make the concept of practice fun for the average NFL player. Carroll is one of the one head coaches to have won a Super Bowl and a college football national championship. Before becoming the coach for the Seahawks, Pete Carroll was the coach of the University of Southern California Trojans. The Trojans won the college football national championship in the mid 2000s while Carroll led the Seattle Seahawks to a blow out win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48. Both Carroll and Belichick have had unique journeys that have led them both to Super Bowl 49 and it will be interesting to see which team can pull off the win.
