Tom Brady Return A No for Bob Kraft

It’s stating the obvious that Bob Kraft is hoping for a Tom Brady return. However, based on Tom Brady’s recent Instagram post this may not be the case for Patriots fans. What we know for certain is that Tom Brady is NOT retiring. Where will Tom Brady return next season?

Shortly after the New England Patriots were eliminated from the playoffs by the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, there was a lot of speculation that quarterback Tim Brady had played his final game in a Patriots uniform, with the future Hall of Famer becoming a free agent in March and turning 43 by the time next season rolls along.

After the game, Brady told reporters that it was pretty unlikely that he retires during the offseason. Head coach Bill Belichick was also asked about Brady’s future, but declined to go into details in regard to his quarterback’s future.

Honestly, look, I know it’s out there just like there are a lot of other things out there. We could bring up 50 questions just like that one. I told you what my state is on that. So you can ask all 50 of them and it’s going to be the same answer 50 times. We’ve been working on Tennessee, it’s 12 hours after the game, I’m not going to talk a lot of things about the future because I’m not prepared to talk about it.”

After Kraft, Belichick later added that he needed time to assess the situation regarding a possible Tom Brady return.

“I want to give the proper attention and communication and detail and thought into my input into those decisions,” he said. “But any decision made is not an individual decision. There are other people involved. There has be some type of communication, understanding, agreement, whatever you want to call it. That’s not a one-way street. I hope you can understand that. One person can’t just decide what everybody else is going to do. …

“There’s a lot of time, thought and effort and communication that goes into that. Now is not the time.”

Team owner Robert Kraft was more direct about his thoughts on losing Brady. In short, a Tom Brady return is not happening for the Patriots.

“My hope and prayer is No. 1, he [Brady] play for the Patriots. Or No. 2, he retires,” Bob Kraft said on Saturday. “He has the freedom to decide what he wants to do and what’s in his own best personal interest.”
