The New England Patriots came in to the season as the favorites to win the Super Bowl and they are also three-point favorites going into their Super Bowl LIII matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.
Despite nobody being surprised that the Patriots are heading back to the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season, quarterback Tom Brady believes his team has been counted out this season and has embraced the underdog role going into the game.
After defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in the Divisional round of the playoffs, Brady said after the game that “everyone thinks we suck and you know, can’t win any games.”
Tight end Rob Gronkowski also echoed the same thoughts.

“We’ve been hearing things like that forever now, for a few years,” Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said after the game. “We just laugh at it, whatever, whatever they say and we just keep moving forward.”
After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, Brady trolled some of the haters on Instagram with a video of himself and Rob Gronkowski with highlights of their win over the Chiefs, letting them know that the Patriots were still standing.
At a rally before the Patriots left for Atlanta, 35,000 Patriots fans showed up to give their team a final sendoff before the Super Bowl. Safety Patrick Chung told the crowd “We’re gonna go out there and kick their ass, baby!”
Head coach Bill Belichick, who isn’t known for saying much in public, thanked the crowd for coming out to see the team off.
“This is an awesome crowd. Just tremendous. This is the biggest sendoff we’ve ever had,” Belichick told those in attendance.
Brady finished the rally by leading the crowd in a chant of “We’re still here,” an answer to the critics who didn’t give them a chance to win the Super Bowl.
