NFL Conference Championship Steelers at Patriots
The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to Foxborough to play the New England Patriots the 2016-2017 AFC Conference Championship game.
Most sports bettors expected the Patriots to be in the AFC Championship game. However, just a few weeks before the end of the regular season, sports books were skeptical of the Steeler’s chances to make it all the way to Super Bowl 51. In fact, the Steelers were able to string together a nice winning streak to end the season and they currently look like one of the strongest teams in the NFL.
With that being said, most sports betting experts will tell you that betting against the Patriots is usually a losing proposition. Tom Brady will play against an improved Steelers defense that features Alvin Dupree. Many analysts believe that Dupree is one of the rising stars on the NFL when it comes to the linebacker position.
Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers are 6 point underdogs against the Patriots. This deficit makes it seem like the Patriots are solid favorites to win this matchup. However, with Rob Gronkowski doubtful, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will need one of their role players to step up and make big plays in order to win the AFC Conference Championship.
