AFC South Preview 2018

The AFC South has caught a lot of flak for not being as good as other divisions in recent years, but last season, it was one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. This year, all four teams have a legitimate chance of making the playoffs, making this a division to keep your eye on this year.

Here’s a quick preview of the AFC South and long with 2018 predictions.

Houston Texans
The Texans have won the division for the past two seasons, and did so last year without three-time Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt, and inconsistency from the quarterback position. The team will have a healthy Watt back to anchor the defense and rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson to direct the offense.

Houston is projected to win 8.5 games. If the team was able to win nine games last season without its best player, there is no reason why they shouldn’t win more this year.

AFC South Predictions 2018

Indianapolis Colts
The Colts finished 8-8 last year, which was good for 3rd place in the division. During the offseason, they addressed their offensive line needs and are hoping a better line will help improve their running game and keep quarterback Andrew Luck healthy.

The Colts are projected to win nine games this season. Since they have a favorable schedule with only three playoff teams from last year, there’s no reason why they can’t win more than nine games.

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars finished with only three wins last season, but don’t sleep on them this year. Jacksonville has a lot of young talent on the field, and if they can eliminate the mistakes that cost them games last year, there is no reason they can’t compete for the division title.

The Jags are projected to win six games this year. Even though they will face some tough opponents, I believe they are talented enough to win at least seven games this year.

Tennessee Titans
The Titans surprised some people by winning nine games and finishing second in the division last season. After tasting some success last year, I expect them to be even better this year.

The Titans are projected to win 8.5 games this year. The team exceeded expectations with nine wins last year and I expect them to win more this year.
