Here’s a big question for Packers fans, can the Green Bay Packers win Super Bowl 52 this season?
Since Aaron Rodgers took over as the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, the Packers have been perennial contenders to win the Super Bowl. However, going into his 12th season in the league, the two-time league MVP has only managed to lead his team to one Super Bowl victory.
Since their Super Bowl victory in 2010, the Packers have come close to returning to the game, but fell short a couple of times.
In fairness, Rodgers, who is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play, has done his part to help get the team back to the Super Bowl. However, the team hasn’t had the same type of talent like they did in 2010.
After years of coming up short thanks to their defense and lack of a running game, the Packers came close in 2014 season, but a second half collapse by their defense and a last minute gaffe cost them the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Last season, the Packers came close to making the Super Bowl once again, but fell short against the Atlanta Falcons, whose offense was too potent for the Packers.
With the Packers going into the season with a healthy receiving corps and the addition of Martellus Bennett, who won the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots last season, the Packers offense should have no trouble moving the ball.
Defensively, the Packers are still a question mark but additions like Ricky Jean Francois and Davon House should give them a boost.
Bookmakers seem to like what the Packers did during the offseason as they have the third best odds of winning the Super Bowl.
Despite their favorable odds of winning the Super Bowl, the Packers still have to contend with the Dallas Cowboys, the Seattle Seahawks, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Arizona Cardinals.
If they finish with the best record in the conference, the home field advantage will definitely help since there aren’t a lot of players looking forward to playing in the frozen tundra in the middle of winter. So I like Green Bay’s chances of making the Super Bowl.
If they have to go on the road in the playoffs, I don’t think they will make it to the Super Bowl.
