Did somebody say Cleveland Steamer? Today’s Browns Ravens betting preview will not include OBJ gossip. The Cleveland Browns will be trying to bounce back from a disappointing 2019 campaign when they face the Baltimore Ravens in their season-opener on Sunday afternoon. The game will be played at M&T Bank Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 1 PM. ET.
Cleveland Browns Betting Odds:
The Browns had high expectations going into last season, but finished with a 6-10 record. They fired head coach Freddie Kitchens after one season and are hoping new head coach Kevin Stefanski can lead them to the playoffs this season.
Offensively, the Browns didn’t play well last season, averaging 20.9 points per game. Baker Mayfield struggled last season with turnovers, throwing 21 interceptions after throwing only 14 in his rookie season.
They added Jack Conklin and Austin Hooper in the offseason and should be better than they were last year.
Defensively, the Browns gave up 24.6 points per game. They added depth with Adrian Clayborn and B.J. Goodson and used three of their top four draft picks on defenders. They were one of the two teams that beat the Ravens last season and will be confident going into this game.
Baltimore Ravens Betting Odds:
The Ravens were the best offensive team in the league last season, thanks to the play of quarterback Lamar Jackson, who broke the single-season rushing record for a quarterback on his way to winning the league MVP award.
NFL Week 1 Browns Ravens Betting Preview Pick
With most of their starters from last season returning, the Ravens should be just as good as they were offensively last season.
Baltimore’s defense was also good last year with the team giving up 17.6 points per game. They struggled against the run, especially in the playoffs and will need to play better, especially when going up against Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
The Ravens lost safety Earl Thomas, who was released by the team after an altercation with a teammate. They added some talent in free agency and through the draft and don’t plan on signing a new player to replace him.
Betting on NFL Week 1 Picks:
The Ravens are favored to win this game by eight points. The over/under on total points scored is 48.5.
Cleveland will be better than they were last season, but they won’t be good enough to get the win against a Baltimore team that has its sights set on the Super Bowl. Take the Ravens to cover the spread and the over in this game.
