Two division leaders will be going at it when the Tennessee Titans take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football. The game will be played at Heinz Field, and is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM. ET.
What do Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans Have to do to Win in Week 11?
The Titans were expected to compete for the AFC South crown this season, after finishing second to the Houston Texans last year.
After a shaky 2-2 start to the season, the Titans have reeled off four straight wins and have overtaken the Jacksonville Jaguars for the division lead.
A lot of Tennessee’s success is due to the fact that they have been able to control the clock in most of their games, thanks to their strong running game, which is 7th in the league. Their defense allows 23.7 points per game, which is 23rd in the league, but has been able to come up with big stops when needed.
The Steelers gave their fans a scare on Sunday, after going down in the first half against the Indianapolis Colts, who have one of the worst defenses in the league.
In the third quarter, rookie wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster and Ben Roethlisberger hooked up to tie the game before the team sealed the win with a field goal in the fourth quarter.
Despite their poor performance, there’s no reason to doubt how good the Steelers are because they tend to play down to the level of their competition a lot.
At 7-2, they are tied with the New England Patriots for the best record in the AFC, and know how important home field advantage is in the playoffs, so don’t expect them to let up down the stretch.
The Steelers are favored to win this game by 7 points. The over/under on total points scored is not yet available. The Titans have won four straight games, but haven’t faced a team as talented as the Steelers during that stretch. Steelers win convincingly.
